How To Select A 2 Wheel Scooter

By Ryan Morris

There has been a rise in the need and demand for wheel scooters over recent times. This could be attributed to fashion and trends in the society. This makes each and every person admire to have one. As a result therefore, various companies have developed several models and makes of wheel scooters. When shopping for a 2 wheel scooter therefore, you should put several factors to consideration to ensure you find a perfect one for you.

Technical information is the first one. This describes or gives general information about the scooter type, its make, contents and abilities among others. A common material used in the manufacture of scooters is polyurethane. It has been in use for a long time due to its longer lasting effect.

The second important factor to consider is the diameter of any scooter. They could be either tall or short. Both types have their own advantages and disadvantages. For instance, tall ones move faster, and are less maneuvered compared to short ones. However, they take a longer time to spin. Before purchasing any therefore, you should check its diameter.

Hardness of the wheel is also a factor to consider. This is generally termed as the durometer. Most tyres are made of rubber and plastic products. As a result, they are scaled starting from scale A. For instance, soft ones are suited for outdoor activities. Harder type are suited for indoor surfaces which are smooth.

The profile of the wheel is the other consideration you should look into. This entails the surface area that comes into contact with the surface. Most scooters are 24 millimeters thick even though you can find other makes. This determines the stability and traction experienced when riding. Larger ones are preferred.

The core of the wheel is the other important factor you should not leave out. Also called the hub, it entails all the other materials or contents of the scooter apart from the manufacturing material. Core of a tyre is classified as either open or close. The open type have closed showing while closed type do not show spokes. Closed are made of solid aluminum metal. In addition to these, you should check misalignments in the tyre. Presence of such could lead to dragging and overheating.

The other factor to consider are axle kits. The axle, being the most essential part in the tyre determines a lot about it. It determines the speed of the tyre. Various types of axles exist. Some allowing a faster speed while others may not be that fast. Availability of such axle spares is also the other thing to look into.

Last but not least is the tyre rebound. This is the response it makes when hit. Some have high rebound meaning that they provide more responses per stroke. Rebounding is classified as either low, medium or can be high. This effect should however be stated and labelled in the tyre. Depending on your choice, the above considerations will help you pick one.
