The moisture free refrigerant is usually passed through what is referred to as the expansion valve so as to regulate the suction pressure, one that is meant to normalize the conditions of this device.

Both the expansion valve and the orifice tube are significant in reducing the refrigerant pressure so as to effectively lower the refrigerant temperature. Both the expansion devices also convert the high pressure and temperature refrigerant into a lower pressure liquid with a lower temperature.

The evaporator is the next component in any A/C system, and it receives air from passengers side that passes through one side of its many coils. The low temperature refrigerant absorbs heat from the air as it passes through the coils on the opposite side turning it into a gas with low temperature.

The orifice tube A/C system has an important component known as the accumulator that is sandwiched by the compressor and the evaporator. Just like the receiver-drier, it also assists in absorption of moisture in refrigerants while also eliminating the refrigerant that has not yet evaporated that might cause liquid lock in the rotating compressor.
