The Different Teachings Of The Episcopal Church In Lake Norman NC

By Roger Moore

The Episcopal Church is the 14th largest Christian denomination in the United States of America. It has around 3 million followers. The Episcopalian movement has a rich history. It was organized after the American Revolution. Episcopalians have made the world to be a better place to live in. They have taken the gospel to all the four corners the world. The Episcopal Church in Lake Norman NC plays an important role in society. This church is part of Protestantism. The Protestant movement was started after the Great Reformation.

The Episcopal Church is based on the Bible. The Holy Bible is the foundation of this church. All Episcopalian teachings come directly from Scripture. The Holy Bible is supreme. It is also inspired. It was written by inspired men and women over a period of thousands of years. Genesis is the first book of Scripture. The last book is Revelation. This documents the end of days.

The main Episcopalian teaching is the teaching of morality. A Christian should lead a moral life. There is need to follow the straight and narrow path of life because wide is the path that leads to death and many people follow it. A moral person will strictly abide to the Ten Commandments. These should be the light of his feet.

Sin came to the world through Adam and Eve. The first humans disobeyed instructions and they ate the fruit of the tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden. They were deceived by the serpent. Since then, sin has greatly increased all over the world. Every human being has sinned and fallen short of glory. The good news is that every sin can be forgiven.

There is the teaching of salvation. According to this teaching, any sinner can be forgiven of his sins. Forgiveness is offered free of charge. One does not have to pay any money so that to be forgiven of his sins. The only thing that one has to do is to ask for forgiveness and to subsequently repent of all his misdeeds.

Repentance is the first step. After repenting of sins, one will need to be baptized. Water baptism is normally the case. Baptism can take place in a water body such as a river or a lake. Before anything is done, the pastor will first bless the water. Baptism is symbolic in nature. It symbolizes the start of a brand new life.

A baptized Christian should follow the straight and narrow path of life. This is the path that leads to life. There is also need to pray without ceasing. Prayer should be part and parcel of the Christian lifestyle. A prayer does not have to be complicated. It should be as simple as possible. One should pray before taking meals.

A Christian should attend Sunday service. For six days, a man should work. The seventh day is day of Sabbath. This is a day of rest and attending service. During the service, one should pay close attention to the message of the day that will be delivered by the pastor. There will be a time for worship.
