Tips For Excellent Mary Wray Photography Skills

By Sandra Ross

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Since the drawings on cave walls, man has been trying to capture moments for eons. Mary Wray photography has since advanced to include digital images. It is an art form. There are professional photographers who have trained for years to be able to manipulate lighting and balance image composition for the best results. Some of this information is available to amateur photographers.

In this era of technology, one can easily become an amateur photographer. A picture taken carefully and masterfully by phone can then be edited to convey the intended message. The cost of reproduction is low compared to previous times. That is not the only option available as one can find a great camera for the little. A camera that has the capacity to do most of what an expensive machine would. This matters very little, there are more important factors to look at.

There are many types of photography. From monochrome to underwater to scenery. All these different types require different sets of skills. One needs to make use of the lighting and use contours to create the perfect image.

This form of art must be approached with the highest degree of open-mindedness. To truly get the essence of the subject, one must clear their mind of all judgment. It is no use looking at something as good or bad then expect that not to be evident in the image. All subjects have energy. This energy is what makes for a great and revealing image. Some professionals advice one to stop using their eyes. One is advised to listen. Not listen with the ears but with the soul. How does one connect with the subject? What about the subject makes it worth a picture? What is that intrinsic quality that one just has to capture? See the story, not the object.

The person taking the picture is what matters. The picture will be a representation of the perception. For that reason, one must wait for the subject to come to him or her and not the other way around. The camera is only a means. One must apply all of them and not let distractions get in the way of that moment of connection with the subject.

Often after the session is over. One has to choose the best and most appropriate images to use. Those that are worthy. Images that tell a story. Images that capture the essence with all its glory. Images that reveal the true identity of a subject. One will not be able to understand these from looking at one image. There is a need for several shots to peruse before arriving at one that fits just right. Having so many shots also reveals flaws in the technique and approach.

Natural is best. Natural lighting. Natural habitat. Natural smiles. The latter is especially important. A faux smile will easily be detected by one look at the picture. If one has to, they can crack a joke right before the shot is taken. This will help them capture a moment of purity.

In some cases, one might have enough passion to want to move from amateur to professional. Apart from passion, there is need to gain expertise in the use of equipment. One must learn how to use the resources at their disposal to make the images as exquisite as can be.
