TSA Horror Stories That Passengers Cannot Forget

By Edward Bailey

The transport security administration has received a lot of negative feedback from travelers everywhere because of their invasive standard operating security procedures. These security procedures make people feel violated and often times sexually harassed because of all the inappropriate touching and groping. Here are a few tsa horror stories to illustrate all of that.

Racial discrimination is quite rampant in a lot of Western countries, and it is something that is also very rampant among government working bodies like the transport security agency. Gurdeep Singh Bawa is a man who was experienced something like that when he was forced to take out his turban. According to his culture, this is a big no no as it is considered a gross disrespect to let others touch the turban.

There is another story of a woman flying out from Texas who was stopped when the agents had to check her down as standard procedures. The agents pulled her blouse down and exposed her breasts for the public to see. Eventually, she filed a complaint to the Transport Security Administration but fell on deaf ears, which prompted her to file a lawsuit instead. She decided to keep anonymous because of the lawsuit.

Another person, who shared her story on Reddit, experienced an extremely annoying agent who wanted to take apart her sleep apnea machine because it looked strange. She allowed but also got the name of the supervisor in charge so that they could take responsibility if she died in her sleep because her machine did not work properly anymore. Due to this, the agency did replace the sleep apnea machine that they took apart.

Cathy Bassi, who was a survivor of breast cancer and had a prosthetic breast was also very mortified by the procedure. The agents detected the prosthetic breast through the scanner and forced Bassi to reveal it for the agents to see. The agents even touched the prosthetic breast probably thinking it was something else.

Not even the children were spared as there was a story about a six year old boy whose father made an anonymous blog about the whole experience. The six year old boy as forced to undergo the enhanced pat down wherein his testicles were touched by the agents. They were not even given the choice to go through the scanner.

John Tyner did not want to have any of that as he refused both the body screening and the pat down. His story was featured in Fox News wherein he stated that the procedure was a breach of human rights. He also stated that the security did not allow him to fly because of this and he was eventually escorted out of the airport.

These stories give a clear picture at how abusive transport security agents can be at times whenever they feel like. Unfortunately, complaints would usually fall on deaf ears when people want justice. As one can read in these stories above, they're all actually enough to discourage people from flying to certain places already because of the possible abuse that they may experience.
