By Sharon Hamilton

For those people who love seeing plants growing at their community, they will surely enjoy the art of gardening. Moreover, it could also provide some health benefits to them such as increasing their Vitamin D, lifting up their moods, etc. And it is also another way for humans to exercise their body. No wonder lots of people would want some lawn at their property so they could have their garden. Aside from that, they could also modify their garden into whatever they like and increase its aesthetics. But sometimes, they have some misconceptions about fall pruning Thomaston which leads their plants to be destroyed instead.

For those nature-lovers, they definitely have an idea about what pruning does to a certain plant. It is basically the method of keeping your trees and other plants healthy and good. Aside from that, you also need it so you could protect your garden and your property from potential hazards such as pests. It involves removing rotten or dead parts and also trimming it to help a plant develop in a healthy way.

Through this method, what you planted would really grow well since those dead portions were removed. Pests will also not likely damage your plant as you do the maintenance. Aside from that, it also helps in avoiding some physical hazards that may harm other individuals around your area. Broken branches may have a tendency to harm others who are walking by if that will not be removed.

As you see, it does contains several benefits. And when the autumn season finally comes, your hands might be itching to get some tools and start some pruning. But then, you must know this one thing. Fall is never the best season for you to do that activity.

You may wonder why it is not prohibited. With those benefits previously mentioned, it should be alright to execute it. Plants also get wounded when they were being trimmed. But it could help them to grow well. However, the wounds would not heal fast if you prune it this season.

Plus the next season would be winter. Cold seasons could not make those wounds heal faster since the energy of a plant will be more focused on its roots. Therefore, if you prune it, those cuts will certainly not heal, leaving your plant more vulnerable to many hazards.

So what will you do instead during that season? Of course you would not just stand and watch everything turning into something messy. You may do mulching and also raking for your lawns. In fact, mulch is helpful in protecting your plants during winter season as it gives nutrients to their roots.

You also should not stop on watering your garden. Provide more water for upcoming cold season. It would be hard for it to gather water from cold grounds. So for trees, you may do some deep watering. Furthermore, pruning can now be done at late winter or maybe do it on early spring.

The bottom line here is you must certainly avoid pruning during fall season. So stop your urges before it could damage your plants. Aside from that, you may remove the dead portions but never trim it during that season.
