The Case Of Disappearing Forests And Woodlands

By Martha Mitchell

When the world was young, human beings were heavily reliant on the forests for nutrition. Other critters also depended on it but were always outwitted by humans. Various plant life abounds on planet earth. Nature generously gave what man needed, food and materials to be used for building structures. One species towers over the others and these are the trees. If you plan to cultivate one in your yard get in touch with Tree Consultation Madison NJ.

Nature has generously provided man with most of the things that he needs. From its earliest existence until the modern times, trees have played a major part in almost all human endeavors. Before the dawn of technology, this was used to produce fire to ward off animals and keep warm at night. The fire also provided light and was used to cook food.

The introduction of technology by way of simple tools and implements gave way to the construction of structures. These were built mostly of wood which the forests generously provided. This became the standard building material in erecting homes even until present times. Ironically the overuse of this material has resulted in the disappearance of timberlands and woodlands.

Versatility is what separates wood from other natural resources. It can be used to manufacture anything from a small toothpick to the largest ocean going sailing ships. Modern construction does not use wood for major supports but is still fabricated to create baseboards and cornices and other wood parts. It probably is the most abused natural resource.

Big time loggers have made the mountains and flatlands as bald as a human without hair. Large areas are being converted to accommodate residential, agricultural, industrial and commercial activities. The great forests are disappearing, thanks to human progress. Recently nations have joined hands in mitigating over logging operations to save the remaining woodlands on this planet called earth.

There is growing concern over the disappearance of timberlands and woodlands. Organizations and associations have joined hands in calling out governments to address this problem. These plants play a very important role in the environment. Studies have determined that these plants absorb pollution in cities and in remote areas which are the benefit of health.

Trees are natural carbon dioxide absorbers using the process of photosynthesis. They literally breathe it. It is a natural repository of human clumsiness that has resulted in the degradation of the quality of air that we breathe. Tree planting is now a common yearly activity that most companies do with the help of their employees. It a way of returning to mother earth what was taken away.

Mountain slopes have lost vast acreage of trees brought about by logging operations. Incidences of mudslides and landslides are becoming all too common especially during heavy downpours. We can only breathe a deep sigh when we look at live feeds of whole villages swamped and buried by landslides and mudslides. It is natures way of saying it now is my turn punk.

The impact that trees have on the surroundings is an acknowledged fact. A single tree can be a home for biodiversity with a whole food chain process in it consisting of invertebrates, insects, and wildlife. The planet is on the verge of an ecological disaster as more and more animals and plants are becoming extinct. The result of human abuse of nature.
